PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER’S ROSTER OF INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED DESIGN LEADERS GROWS WITH NEW LEASING GAINS
Luxury French, English, Spanish, Brazilian, and Italian Companies Join Iconic L.A. Design Destination with Several Opening for WESTWEEK 2017, March 22-23
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA (February 27, 2017) — Pacific Design Center (PDC) continues its dominance in the West Coast design arena with an impressive array of new leasing activity spanning the past six months and into Spring 2017. The addition of these international tastemakers in the furniture, fabric, wallcoverings, theater, and accessory categories fortifies the PDC’s position as the leading design destination for to-the-trade and consumers in the southern California market.
The new showrooms include a selection of brands transitioning from a retail to a design center presence—moving from the streets of West Hollywood into PDC—complemented by others marking their West Coast debut. Winter/Spring 2017 openings and expansions include international publisher Assouline Books & Gifts, home entertainment specialists CinemaTech Home Theater, fine English furniture maker George Smith, luxury fabric companies Loro Piana Interiors and Quadrille Fabrics and Wallpapers, and exterior furnishings brand Tidelli Outdoor Living. As new tenant Assouline noted, “We wanted to reinforce our implementation in California by opening a boutique inside Pacific Design Center, the West Coast’s most prestigious decor and furniture market.”
“The addition of these premier new showrooms from around the world strengthens our position as the global, go-to design resource in Los Angeles,” said Charles S. Cohen, owner and president, Pacific Design Center. “The commitment of these brands to PDC underlines our dedication in advancing the commerce of design by providing the highest caliber of quality, style and sophistication to the West Coast home furnishings market. We’re so pleased our new partners have chosen Pacific Design Center as their new home.”
Other recent additions to PDC include: Jean de Merry, the French-focused multi-line showroom which relocated from Melrose Place this past Summer; Spanish outdoor furniture company Vondom, establishing its first West Coast showroom location; and the expansion of long-term tenant HOLLY HUNT in partnership with Phillip Jeffries, culminating with the opening of their joint showroom HOLLY HUNT|Phillip Jeffries, showcasing their fabric and wall-covering (respectively) collections.
More on the attraction of the PDC from a selection of new showrooms:
“As we seek to further enhance the exceptional service that George Smith has provided over the years to the design industry, we are delighted to be relocating to Pacific Design Center,” said Ben Norris, CEO of George Smith. “Our clients will benefit from an even more convenient and accessible shopping experience at our new home and it will also pave the way for relationships with many new designers and architects.”
“Pacific Design Center was particularly appealing to us with its dynamic showroom space, which allows us to curate an exceptional buying experience while engaging the brand with new demographics,” said, Christian Darnaud-Maroselli, Co-Founder, Jean de Merry.
“California has always been a terrific market for CinemaTech,” states Company President Michael Murphy. “Our discerning clients want to touch and feel our seating and meet with our design team, so it made sense we take space to showcase our excusive offerings in the most renowned design building in the western U.S.”
