WESTWEEK 2001 CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AT THE
PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER WITH ANNUAL BLUE PARTY
Top Designers Receive Prestigious Stars of Design Awards
Los Angeles (March 6, 2000) – On Wednesday, March 28, 2001, 7-11 PM, as part of it two-day design trade event, WestWeek 2001: Crossroads of International Design, the Pacific Design Center (PDC) will honor eight outstanding design professionals who have been selected by a panel of judges from the design world, at the annual gala celebration, blue. The recipients of the Stars of Design awards are:
• Interior Design: Luis Ortega, Luis Ortega Design Studios and Bettye Young, B. Jordan Young, Inc.
• Architecture: Steven Ehrlich, Steven Ehrlich Architect
• Product Design: James Peter Jennings, James Jennings Furniture
• Art: John Baldessari, JAB Art Enterprises
• Photography: Victoria Pearson, Victoria Pearson Photography
• Urban Planning: William Fain, Johnson Fain Partners
• Graphic Design: April Greiman, Pentagram Design
The judges of the foregoing recipients are: Jake Klein, West Coast Editor, Wallpaper; Susan McFadden, Editor-in-Chief, California Homes; Michael Webb, architecture and design writer; Donna Warner, Editor-in-chief Metropolitan Home; Louis Postal, Publisher, Design Times; Barbara Thornburg, Editor Home/Design, Los Angeles Times; Edie Cohen, West Coast Editor, Interior Design Magazine; Kathleen Madden, Editor-in-Chief, Homestyle Magazine; and Danette Riddel, Editor, LA Architect.
The evening will feature event production and gourmet catering by Jason’s Personal Chef Catering and Events, a musical performance by the band, Tropics, and sets by the hottest DJ from Paris, DJ Flacko. The festivities will be held in the fifth and sixth floor Galleria of the PDC, located at 8687 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA. The party will have an international theme from the music to the food.
WestWeek 2001: Crossroads of International Design is a major two-day trade event celebrating architecture and design that is held on March 28 and 29. The event will welcome over 10,000 architects, designers, manufacturers, distributors, facility managers, educators, allied design professionals and others from around the world. During the event, individual PDC showrooms will exhibit new products and host an array of noted industry speakers and programs. Keynote programs over two days will offer a diverse range of opinions and insight from leaders in architecture, design (interior, product, fashion and graphic), entertainment and technology.
