PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER HONORED BY
THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DEVELOPMENT FORUM
West Hollywood, CAOn Tuesday, December 14th, Pacific Design Center (PDC) will be honored by the Southern California Development Forum with an award for contributions and commitment to the business environment and communities of Southern California. The award will be received by Pacific Design Center president and owner Charles Cohen, who has led the revitalization of the landmark property since his purchase of the building in 1999.
Cohen, who completed a remarkable five year, $30 million renovation of the PDC in 2004 is credited for the visionary transformation of the unique West Hollywood building. Over the last six years the building has been steadily repurposed from simply a designer showroom complex, to a multi-use facility housing prestigious businesses, a MOCA gallery and state-of-the-art meeting and screening facilities utilized by the best of the Los Angeles arts and entertainment communities.
Over the last several years, nearly every element of Pacific Design Center has been redefined, enhanced or aesthetically improved from the outside in by many prestigious Los Angeles-based designers, architects and landscape artists. The result speaks for itself building upon the unique design of Cesar Pelli, the world renowned architect who originally designed the PDC.
The Southern California Development Forum award will be given to Pacific Design Center and other honorees at a group breakfast held at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City on the 14th of December.
The Southern California Development forum is an association of professionals in real estate, design, engineering, finance and construction who meet monthly to informally share their ideas, interface with dynamic speakers discussing topical issues, and open doors to new opportunities.
