Definition
Pacific Design Center is the West Coast’s largest resource for the fine traditional and contemporary contract and residential furniture, fabrics, floorcoverings, architectural products, wallcoverings, lighting, kitchen and bath products and accessories.
Within 1.2 million square feet, our 130 showrooms display and sell 2,100 interior product lines to professional interior designers, architects, facility managers, specifiers, decorators and dealers.
The 14-acre beautifully landscaped site is located in the City of West Hollywood, which is situated within Los Angeles.
Pacific Design Center serves the needs of design and community groups by providing dramatic public and private space for meetings, lectures, special events, exhibitions and receptions.
WestWeek, the annual international market event for new product and inspiring information that occurs each spring, is sponsored by Pacific Design Center.
The MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) Gallery at Pacific Design Center is a freestanding 3,000 square-feet exhibition facility.
The Theatre, Conference Center, Plaza and other public exhibition areas are used on a regular basis for corporate and charity events such as screenings, lectures, trade shows, parties and festivals.

Building History
Pacific Design Center opened in September 1975, with 750,000 square-feet Center Blue.
Center Green opened in March 1988, adding 450,000 square-feet of which, 200,000 square-feet converted to creative office space in 2001.
The site plan calls for a third phase, Center Red, consisting of 400,000 square-feet. Construction date is yet to be determined.
The two Centers are connected on 1st, 3rd and 6th floors. A pedestrian bridge, design by Gruen Associates, opened in March 1991 to connect the sixth floors of each center.
In October 1999 the PDC was acquired by Cohen Brothers Realty.
Since new ownership in 1999, the PDC has leased 25 new showrooms, undergone a complete interior renovation designed by AREA Architects, new interior and exterior lighting designed by Kaplan Lighting, new signage program designed by Selbert & Perkins, two new full-service restaurants, and the installation of interactive information kiosks.

MOCA at the PDC
(Museum of Contemporary Art)
The original Gallery opened in March 1989 and MOCA Gallery opened in January 2001.
The freestanding, two-story structure was designed by Cesar Pelli, FIA, architect and recipient of the 1995 AIA Gold Medal.
MOCA Museum is a 3,000 square-feet gallery focusing on architecture, design and art exhibitions.
The Gallery is located on a two-acre outdoor Plaza.
Recent MOCA exhibitions include:
SUPERFLAT – Superflat surveys a tendency in Japanese art, animation, fashion, and graphic design towards two-dimensionality through work by 19 artists.
LARRY CLARK – photography from the permanent collection. Teenage violence, sex and drugs
WHAT’S SHAKIN’ – A look at new architecture in Los Angeles
LA ON MY MIND – photography, sculpture and art from LA artists


SilverScreen Theatre
The Silver Screen Theater opened in December 2000. Recent screening includes:
