… OR MAYBE IT’S THE WEATHER? The Los Angeles Design Movement in 2015
Moderator: Melissa Goldstein, Senior Contributing Editor, C & C Home Magazines
Panelists: Tanya Aguiniga, Stefan Bishop, Oliver Furth, David Wiseman
Los Angeles has long been a trailblazer in the realms of architecture, design and fine art. But only in recent years has the city finally received its due as a cultural and creative global center. Now, with the international community looking West to seek out inspiration and source talent, a thriving Design-Art hybrid movement has emerged. C Magazine’s Melissa Goldstein joins LA><ART><DESIGN chair and interior decorator Oliver M. Furth, sculptor and decorative artist David Wiseman, sculptor and decorative artist Stefan Bishop and fiber artist Tanya Aguiniga in a conversation aimed at exploring the perfect storm that catapulted Los Angeles onto the international stage, delineating the meaning of art as design (and vice versa), and taking an educated peek into the future to see what’s to come.
A reception follows at Industry Gallery (B270), Christopher W. Mount Gallery (B267), and Thomas Paul Fine Art (B275).
RSVP required for reception at westweek2015.eventbrite.com.
